Multi-Burial: The Pieps DSP Advanced and BCA Tracker2 have the most advanced multi-burial tracking and marking capabilities. None are flawless! Understanding and correcly using these features takes practice! |
Ease-Of-Use: The BCA Tracker DSP is hands-down the easiest beacon to use. If you refuse to use manuals (we never recommend ignoring these) and want something you can figure out in a couple of minutes, this is your beacon. The more bells and whistles added with each technological advance = more practice time required by the user. |
Antenna: Why are more antenna good? You've got more paths for information to be received and transmitted through. |
Batteries: All the avalanche transceivers we carry run on AAA batteries; don't forget to check them before every trip and turn them off after each use. A transceiver with no battery juice does no good. |
| Friends: Your beacon won't do you any good if there's no one there to pick up your signal if you get into trouble. Always travel in the backcountry with a friend and check your local avalanche forecast!
