K2 SODO
Backcountry Magazine (2009 Gear Guide)
"K2 touts the new SODO as a crud-busting, straightlining, switch-skiing badass. Our testers found the Sodo only so-so. 'It's a soft ski that's easy to roll up on edge, but gravitates towards moderate terrain,' one female tester said. Another added: 'Easy to turn, it danced through the trees and in and out of the bumps with ease.' With high scores in turn initiation, and at moderate speeds, the Sodo was a laid-back ride, that wasn't shaken by changing conditions. 'Wasn't bothered in the least by crud, ruts, or animals on the trail; absorbs every bump in the road,' said a Vermont patroller. But a Western ripper chimed in: 'A little too soft for crust and icy snow.' A skin-friendly notched twin-tip keeps backcountry utility high for a twin-tip, and all-mountain dimensions keep the Sodo grounded through mixed conditions. 'Damp, damp, damp! Like the K2's of old,' said a veteran ski tester."
