Volkl Crested Butte Mountain Guides Photo

Völkl began making great big-mountain freeskiing skis before it was even called freeskiing. We've gained momentum in this category, working with top riders to introduce new models that re-set the performance bar. For next season, we do it again. The innovations don't end with the big mountain category. Our engineers went back to the drawing board to introduce some great new gear in the park riding category as well.

    Wood Core
    Concept
We've perfected what nature gave us: wood - like always, there's no better core material for achieving the best flex performance in a ski. Adaptable, flexible and yet still stable - no other active material allows the skier such a compact and harmonious feel. A wooden heart beats in all VÖLKL ski ranges. Different WOOD CORES have been developed for all the different intended uses and characteristics of the skis. The type of wood, processing, size, length and width are different - these are all factors that affect the power, athleticism and flex of the skis.
    Full Sensor
    Wood Core
A compact wooden core from the tip of the ski to the end ("tip-2-tail") gives power and energy - throughout the entire length of the ski. The optimum support for skiers who make their mark in the snow with a lot of feeling. This wooden core provides better shock absorption for direct or aggressive momentum and at high speeds, from the tip of the skis to the end. The TIP-2-TAIL SENSOR WOODCORE is used in the following ski ranges UNLIMITED, TIGER, RENTAL and FREESKI. A special light construction version of the TIP-2-TAIL SENSOR WOODCORE is used in the ATTIVA and BACKCOUNTRY ski series.

    Volkl FAQs
    Ski Sizing
Völkl recommends sizing customers for skis with the “Use your Head” method. The key to this rule is simplicity. For Type 1 (novice) skier, size the skis with the tip approximately chin height. For Type 2 (intermediate) skier, use approximately nose height. Type 3 (expert) skiers will be sized correctly when the ski tip is at forehead height. Note: There are a few exceptions to the rule to be aware of. Slalom racing skis like the Racetiger SL Racing and the SL Race Stock will be sized considerably shorter. In racing women generally use a 155cm and men use a 165cm. Powder specific skis like the Gotama or Katana are sized longer, mainly for expert skiers. For the best sizing advice, ask your local Völkl retailer.

Warranty Völkl warranty covers all manufactured defects in materials and workmanship for one year from date of purchase when bought from an authorized retail dealer. The product will be repaired or replaced if approved by the Volkl warranty service technicians.
